A wildly beloved Italian family-style restaurant on the picaresque Rua Avanhandava where the lines are as large as the portions, so come with an expanded stomach. Famiglias are seated at enormous gingham-covered tables throughout different rooms to feast on ricotta-filled ravioli, filé à parmigiana, antipastos and other dishes in an unrestrained, festive atmosphere with the requisite frames on the wall to drive the you’re-in-mamma’s-house mood home. Hard-to-find bathrooms require patience in navigating around tables and others similarly lost. Wait-listers start with appetizers and wine outside. Impatient, overly hungry diners oftentimes finally give up in defeat, retreating to any of the other Mancini-owned restaurants on the block.
