In the Name of the Artists is a massive exhibit running till December 4 at the Biennial, featuring a coveted collection from the the Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art in Oslo. The show unites dozens of major names from the North American contemporary art scene starting from three decades ago; Jeff Koons, Cindy Sherman, Matthew Barney, Doug Aitken, plus younger artists, provoke and poke. The first-floor Damien Hirst retrospective — a good mix, with a cadaver or two — is a big attraction as well. Bring your smartphone: many of the pieces' info cards have QR codes that, when scanned, will load up an audio guide describing that particular artwork.
