Hidden hepcat hangout is an underground instrumental jazz club in the back of an indistinguishable car lot—hence the name, which means "jazz in the back"—and upon first impressions, may seem like an impromptu, spontaneous drinking (or squatter's) den right out of Blade Runner. Old plane parts act as chandelier shades, reflecting blue and red light onto mismatched furniture, and an old bike props up the wall; these are all treasures from the street used as decoration or furniture. In the corner of the L-shaped room sits an intimate box stage on which national and visiting musicians get into sax solos under an "On Air" sign. A rickety balcony looms above grooving guests, who wash down bar food like nachos with fruit caipirinhas, international beers and wine. The audience is seated on double rows of wooden connected seats, putting them within nose distance from the band. Nights are broken into two segments, lasting an hour-and-a-half each, allowing late-goers enough time to arrive to catch the second session or early birds to warm up with the first act.
