“Eclectic” is an understatement if used for mom-and-pop presents store, a local neighborhood landmark the first go-to that saves gifters’ faces. Don’t let the store’s shoebox size fool you: Racks and shelves are teeming at the edges with joke toys, animal masks, wigs, tees, erotic souvenirs and kitsch galore. Think of Aga as the resulting scene if pop culture where to physically explode and spray its smattering of influences and references everywhere. Following this line of thought, Aga could be a museum of sorts, a study of the self-indulgently asinine and as good as the latest comedy flick. Selection changes frequently, and those who browse for others tend to leave with something for themselves.
