Arbiters of art cool and a publication that showcases them, Rojo magazine has made Sao Paulo its headquarters to keep up with all the goodness that’s coming from and happening in Brazil, bringing such international artists as MWM Graphics and Topher to the country. Its digs are in a swanky, ornate 1920s building in Higienopolis under the Galeria 600 umbrella, a perfect fit if you can imagine the tee-totallers and fests that have likely been part of the space’s past. To enter the gallery, patrons are led through a pebble-strewn entryway normally reserved for cars, where they’re greeted by a quiet, outdoor courtyard stationed with shiny black containers filled with art that function as more art space (and hobnob potential galore). From there, artgoers can head inside the building and check out more art, attend a workshop, or visit and buy books in the Gestalten area on the mezzanine.
