This Irish-American eatery and saloon bar is the fifth addition to follow in the footsteps of big brother P.J Clarke's, located in NY, the latter of which was where Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra and Buddy Holly hung out. Restaurant is decked out in original fixtures and American furniture imported from the U.S. Attention to detail is key: heavy, wooden paneled interior; wooden-topped bar complete with high stools, circular tables with gingham tablecloths, chunky wooden side benches, brass lamps, checkered tiles and a huge array of knick-knacks and throwbacks from the previous century adorning the walls. Dine among photos of Marilyn Monroe, J.F.Kennedy, Brad Pitt, jazz musicians, and other actors from the middle of the last century. Like the decor, the menu stays true to its American counterpart: The Nat King Cole-coined hamburger, "the cadilac [of burgers]," is the classic and most requested dish, and also offers steaks, pork ribs and even fresh oysters. Breakfast buffet on Fridays, Saturdays and holiday periods featuring caloric classics like waffles and pancakes are served in addition to the usual Brazilian staples. Cocktail favorites include the famous Manhattan. Lunchtime is a business-suit affair, while evenings and weekends sees a more diverse crowd.
