Hostel, which is really located on the outskirts of Vila Madalena despite the name, has air of designer chic and retro cool, with an international crowd that appreciates them. Owner Tulio has set out to reinvent the hostel concept by turning it boutique, lavishing it with throwback '60s and '70s designer furniture. The accommodation, like many house-turned-hostels in Sao Paulo, is split between a main house and the maid's quarters, separated by a courtyard with covered seating area. Main house is decked out with original wood floors. Construction of mixed-sex dorms were inspired by fruit and vegetable crates used at markets. Personal service's taken to a higher degree: Hostelers get personal introduction to the place, plus tailored sightseeing advice. Super-small kitchen available.
