Nestled within a brightly painted red house is this Russian-owned shop, whose offerings include imported matryoshka dolls of all sizes and likely the only place in Sao Paulo you'll find so many. Beautiful and intricately painted, they come in eclectic styles, from famous political officials and religious icons to the classic peasant grandmother. Three-piece sets start from R$27 and climb dramatically to 40-piece sets at R$8,000. Babushka dolls aside, Tchayka comrades will also find a selection of translated Russian authors including Fyodor Dostoyevsky, original Communist poster art, colored scarves, T-shirts and other such touristy souvenirs you'd likely pick up if you went to the Soviet Union.
