LimeTime is located a few blocks off Avenida Paulista (two blocks down from Metro Brigadeiro), excellent for those looking to hit the center of town hard. Reputation as a pre-party hostel comes on account of owner, a professional DJ who goes out all night with guests. A slightly sunken garage turned guests' bar hosts LimeTime, which falls between 9 p.m. and 9:15 p.m., when all guests are treated to complimentary caipirinhas (we don't know of any other hostels who do this yet). Expect lime-green walls, bins, lockers, plastic bag holders and so on, with Mac computers (Skype ready and free to use) and WiFi access throughout the building. The bar and subsequent revelry are kept away from dorms (including a girls' only option), secluded at the back of the hostel in a separate house with adjoining courtyard. A double room is available for those in search of a little privacy. Mixed-sex showers and bathrooms, plus kitchen access and DVD collection available. Atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, and rooms are clean with low natural light so hangovers feel less harsh. Breakfast is included — and thank god, too, 'cause you'll need something to help get over that hangover. Bring your own padlock.
