With only its bright orange gates giving it away, this hostel, part of the Youth Hostel Association, is a safe and quiet option for those looking to escape the more chaotic scene of nearby shoulder-to-shoulder bars and the party scene at other hostels. Activity centers around concreted open space, and main accommodation—basic with no major thrills, but clean and with honest prices—is housed in a small building at the center. Backpackers choose between three same-sex dorms stacked with bunk beds; for more privacy, two rooms for families or couples keep nosy singles at bay.
