Owners of Latin American-themed Exquisito follows winning around-the-world concept for Squat—the result of a rainbow colliding with objects. Name inspires theme, but rebel punks looking for a hideout need to save up their coins: This is actually a visually busy, mock European artists’ and students’ haven, and middle-class at that. Eighty-eight pounds of international items like a commemorative Lady Diana statue from Euro amigos were mailed in to help fill Berlin-warehouse-sized space, and decorator obviously reveled in (mis)appropriation: panty hose covers lights, mirrors usurp tennis rackets.
