Exquisito!

Being that the owners also run the beloved Funhouse club across the street, it was almost guaranteed that Exquisito! should have the same success. Started by a group of three amigos, this links Latin American cultures (check the stuffed pockets of dough called saltenas from Bolivia and chili con carne from Mexico made from recipes one of the owner's brothers collected on his travels), with photos and a specially painted giant movie poster on the walls. When patrons aren't imbibing its mojito, which landed on newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo's Best of São Paulo list, they're no doubt having a caipirinha, which comes in such inventive pairings as strawberry and chili pepper, and ginger and mango. Hardly any table only has two people at it, which means people make friends quick here. Photo: Renata Chebel
