Street art in the form of wheat-pasted posters on the walls to handiwork on the bathrooms' tiles provides an apt backdrop for Studio SP's m.o., which is to host up and comers from Brazil's world of indie, rock, and experimental beats. But international cult guests like Erlend Oye and Bright Eyes occasionally plug into this venue for its quality sound system and adoringly enthusiastic crowd. A mezzanine often roped off for VIPs overlooks the goings-on, but common people can sit on the elevated concrete steps—stadium style—near the back wall to get their own better vista of the ample stage.
