Situated on the mezzanine floor within the Mercado Municipal, this lanchonete has earned a reputation for its door-step-sized mortadella sandwiches since its inauguration in 1952, and obsessed patrons travel from far and wide for the culinary experience. The heralded gut-filler comprises of thinly sliced Cerratti mortadella, ground heat-cured pork sausage spiced with olives and black pepper and topped with cheese, have it hot or cold. You'll struggle to stretch your chops around it, and even more so to eat it with any sort of finesse. Other delights include the beirute, generously stuffed codfish pasteis that they claim they invented and pernil (roasted pork) sandwiches.
