Old mansion hosts energetic live-music parties from jazz to samba rock for happy, unruly groups who reserve tables and rooms, with each one artfully, colorfully painted in a different theme and named. Found furniture down to the chandeliers and long sofas give it a slightly squatter’s or frat house feel but nonetheless stays far from tacky. Crowd is faithful to a particular night and comes dressed up in heels and button-up shirts, ready to flirt the night away while waiters rotating through the place hustle to keep up. House gets packed before 9 p.m., when cover charges apply, which means by 11 p.m. the party is already jumping with those who have already gotten their drink on. Food choices are portioned so that they promote sharing.
