A welcome rest from the city, Parque Ibirapuera is 400 acres of leisure in the shape of museums, jogging and bike trails, lakes, and hordes of teens swapping spit in the grass. The beloved Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer was called in to design the cultural centers, from the Biennial Building to the renowned Museu de Arte Moderna. Watch for wildly errant skateboarders and bikes when you’re passing through the wide marquise.
